"aprendemos mas de la personalidad humana y la conducta humana leyendo una novela que un libro de psicologia cientifica"

can you please type in english
Hi there
Please feel free to use any language for postings on this site.
The site is set up to be accessed in the three IB working languages - English, French and Spanish. When it was launched we made sure we had postings in all three languages, plus some in Chinese - in which the MYP is taught in some schools.
But you can post in any language, even though only some people will be able to understand.
It is good to see posts in Spanish - the language in which a significant proportion of IB students study and sit examinations for the IB.

"we learn more about human behavior by reading a novel than researching in a scientific psiocology book."
well, i thought about this while reading Pride & Prejudice. there are so many things about the way all the characters act, that you can see the different way a human being reacts to the situations of life. we can see how they deal with their issues, and you can analize how they act; understanding the human mind rather than investigating in scientific books.

Hi, i'm Florestela and muy school just got accepted in the IB...cool right? Well i would love to hear more about this website because i haven't got used to it...
Hi Florestela
Welcome to this site.
It has been set up for the whole IB community (including IB teachers and school administrators, IB staff and IB students and their parents), but it has a particular purpose.
This is to engage with the community theme - sharing our humanity - and specifically to a number of important and urgent global issues.
"About the community theme" tells you more about the theme itself.
"About this site" explains the purpose of this site and how it works.
We hope you will explore some of the posts here to find out more about the issues of the theme, and some of the ways members of the IB community are engaging with these issues.

hey ociocienta, I like the way you think, please... tell me more about it, because I share some of your thoughts, I agree that it is quite interesting the human mind and their diferents reactions, but what you´re saying about being lazy... are you lazy? do you think lazy people can live well? I mean, I´m very lazy, do I still have a chance in life? please, explain yourself!
take care!
Hey,
My EE topic is: "Which Aspects of Bertolt Brecht are still Influential in the Western World Today?"
:)
My EE Topic is Renewable Energy Sources Practicality and Reliability. Though I am still looking and thinking for ideas for my EE, I was wondering some others because I also have 'Bread Baskets' of the World and there managability to prodcuce and feed the worlds population or like otehr Food Sources like farming or aqua farming fish. Hey check it out you can put Greek letters Σ!
heylooo. i'm new (:
anyways, we've just started with the EE's. just got my supervisor today in fact (:
anyways, i'm doing my EE in history. was thinking along the lines of eugenics... not sure really.
"Compare how Chinua Achebe and Doris Lessing use the rolesand points of view of the three main characters in their works “Anthills of theSavannah” and “African Laughter - four visits to Zimbabwe” to expose thefaults in their respective post-colonial governments?"
It's a working title
Is anyone else finding it hard to stick to one subject when you're writing your EE? I keep finding myself making comments about politicians like Mugabe... which really isn't a 'literary' enough focus...
Hi All
I'm a chem teacher in Surabaya (Indonesia). For my students, I always expect them to explore something that happens surround them. The topic of EE should something that they aware and if possible give solution. We really expect them to arise local issue that may effected on global issue, such as pollution, water crisis, etc
What do u think?
i'm a junior, so i haven't really gotten to the whole deciding on my topic for my extended essay. but what i have been thinking about was something in either the english department or the psychology department. for english, creative writing sparks my interest. for psychology, i'd like to research dreams versus reality. but who knows? i might do something in science!
any pointers or suggestions?
oh and to hasto, researching something about current global issues sounds very good. but who am i to judge?
i might even go in that direction....
