At the Anglo Colombiano (Bogota, Colombia) we are planning our PYP Exhibition on this theme. Focusing particulary on education for all, peace and conflict and global poverty - under the umberella of children's rights. Are there any other PYP schools out there doing the same thing?

Where are the educational factors in IB? by NH
Sarah,
I taught for many years in Cartagena. I have very fond memories of Colombia.
Now I'm in China at International School of Tianjin. Our exhibition this year falls under the transdisciplinary theme of How We Share the Planet. We're focusing on the finite resources and the idea that we all have the power to make a difference to the world through our actions.
We intend to share our exhibition experience on http://pypexhibition.ning.com/
Please join us. Your students could highlight their work as well.
Cheers,
Tod

Hi Sarah,
The PYP Exhibition at International School Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam was on children's rights with a focus on education, health and poverty. The Exhibition was extremely successful with lots of student initiated action taking place. There is an abundance of resources on the internet that I can direct you to. Please feel free to contact me at jogreen@ishcmc.edu.vn for these.

We are also planning our exhibition around the community theme. Our focus is on Global Poverty. To launch the exhibition, our fifth grade students are having a dinner theatre. They are preforming the play "The Castaways." The money raised will go to a homeless shelter in our city. I would love to share resources with you and ideas.

Dear Libby,
It sure sounds like such a noble idea, to have a dinner theater and raise money for charity through it.In my school the students of Grade 5 have been involved in a unit on Human Rights and we have been doing this unit for the last three years. Each year we have added to the unit with the enriching experiences of the previous year. The focus of this unit is Rights of a Child and differentiation between wants and needs. We take our students to an NGO, which works with street children in trying to rehabilitate them and educate them. I would love to share more experiences with you and would want to know of yours too.Looking forward to a longer association with you,
Regards,

SHARING YOUR PYP EXHIBITION WITH THE IB COMMUNITY
It is very encouraging that a number of schools are linking, or have linked, their PYP exhibition with the community theme.
Now we have this website, IB would like to encourage schools linking their PYP exhibition to the community theme to use it to share their exhibition work with others.
1. The best place to do this is in the Post section (Click on the Post button)
Here you can provide
· text (in the Body, if it is short; by attaching a document if longer)
· images
· videos (you need to upload these to YouTube or a similar site first)
2. The PYP team suggest that you present any reports in two sections:
Process
Product
Please do make sure you include something about the process, answering questions such as: what initiated the exhibition? How was the topic selected? How did students work collaboratively on it? How did they develop interactions with the local community?
3. Please tag this with “PYP” and “PYP exhibition.”
To find postings on the exhibition, you would then search using “PYP exhibition”.
Over to you….

Hello everyone :)
Our current PYP exhibition here at Instituto Anglo Británico (mx) is also going to be closely related to the IB Community Theme. Thanks for sharing your comments and experiences and I will look forward to keep closely in touch.
All the best!
