The British Red Cross has developed many teaching resources - lesson plans, games, assembly ideas etc - in issues relating to its activities.
These include the following topics relevant to the IB community theme:

Food shortages;
HIV/AIDS;
Laws of war;
Prisoners of conflict;
Refugees;
Asian tsunami;
The work of the Red Cross.
Although some examples relate to the UK context, many of these are of much more general interest and use.
