Camps/Trips/Volunteering?

Hey!

I think that the whole idea of IB is really very good and it encourages many people to work "global".

I'd like to know if there are maybe any camps, trips or volunteering activities organised within the IB organization... ?

New to the site

Ello,

My name is Alicia and I attend school at Lovejoy High School in Georgia at United States. I'm truely enjoy the I.B. because it not only allowed me to seperate myself from the 'other' students but it also provides a challenging cirrculum compared to the easy assingments I did in 9th grade.

With this website I hope to be able to share my ideas and discuss them with other I.B students around the world.

Also If there is someone who speaks fluent French and would be willing to assist me, please e-mail me. Thanks!

Fighting Back Intolerance!

Hello fellow IB students,

Thoughts About Global Poverty

The issue of global poverty has always been a problem.

What is poverty? What can be do about it?

In my opinion, povery is the lack of basic necessitites suchas water, clothes, access to education, shelter, food, and access to healthcare. By adding education and health care in the list above, does not mean thatlack of it is a sign of poverty. Instead, it is avalability and affordablity ofeducation and health care that determines if there are signs of poverty or not.All the basic necessities mentioned such as water, clothes, food etc, allrequire money to buy, but it still not mean that poverty is based only onmaterial things.

Ethical Obligation of the Fortunate?

I would like to reply to the question posted by joannactheme:

Do people in first-world countries or people with economic stability and available education have an ethical obligation to help those who haven't been given the opportunities that we have? If so, what is the measure of this obligation? How much help is enough?

Hi

School Issues

Dear fellow IB students,

I would like to tell you about some rules the school(Doukas School SA)  has about the appearance of a student at school...
First  of all the school does not allow boys to have piercings, to wear shorts from October to May and to have long hair.

Also girls are not allowed to polish their nails, to wear make-up and to wear skirts.
