Reflections under the IB community theme - A poem by a 16 year old IB student in Green Land Pré Vert International School

I'm an MYP student in Green Land Pre Vert International School- Egypt. My personal projet is under the IB community theme. It is a book of poems expressing teens' fear of the future towards global poverty. This is my first submission under the name of: "The Good Part In Me". I hope it provokes people into action towards eradication of poverty.

                                         The Good Part In Me!

                                    I'm always asking this question,

                                   "Is the world coming to an end?"

                                       As I see a lot of destruction

                                   "None of my busines" I pretend!

 

                                          I see hungry children,

                                          I see homeless teens,

                                           I see unsafe families,

                                   and many many other scenes!     

 

                                        Then I chose this topic,

                                       Sorry, I was obliged to...

                                   By this very controlling person,

                               And only "my best" is what I will do...

 

                                     Actually he's not a person,

                                      It's the GOOD part in me,

                           it's from deep inside, my consciousness,

                              That tells me "ACT", don't just "SEE"!

Hi Heba

I work as the head of communications at the IB. Would it be possible to include this poem in our annual review publication? We are focusing on Martin Luther King's essay on The World House and will be using some relevant quotes from students and teachers.
