Buy Fairtrade products - and give producers in the developing world a better deal.

Submitted by Site moderator on Wed, 06/02/2008 - 5:04pm.

Fair trade is about trying to give a better deal to producers in the developing world. Some Fair trade activities have the "Fairtrade" label.

The FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal.

In 2006, the Fairtrade system benefited approximately 1.4 million workers, farmers in 57 developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Fairtrade products include fruit, cocoa, coffee, tea, flowers, sports balls, juices, honey, wine, cotton and products made from these (e.g. chocolate), and are currently available in about 20 countries around the world

By buying products with the Fairtrade mark, you are helping to support communities in the developing world.
