Beacon School in Challenge 20/20

Submitted by beaconschool on Fri, 14/03/2008 - 8:37am.

The Beacon School uses the Challenge 20/20 project sponsored by NAIS to consider how we can contribute towards helping eradicate a global problem. The AOIs that underpin the entire unit are Approaches to Learning, Environments, and Community and Service. Working within an interdisciplinary unit involving Science, Language A: English, Ethics, PHCV, Technology, students study a global problem and formulate viable solutions. Whatever solutions the students formulate will be documented using a multimedia format. This multimedia project forms part of the assessment in Science, Ethics, English and Technology. Journal entries, blog posts, reflection papers and essays will also be assessed as part of their Science, Ethics, and English marks.
