6th grade students doing a collaboration on data analysis

To Teachers/Administrators of 6th grade students (10-11 year olds),

We are 6th grade math teachers at Rippowam Middle School in Stamford, Connecticut.  We are presently working on our math unit, “Data About Us”.  This unit teaches the students to collect and analyze data.  We are focusing on four questions that we hope you can help us out on.  We are going to ask our classmates and would like to ask your students the following questions.  We will then collect all the data and analyze it by graphing, finding mean, median and mode and present the data to the rest of the 6th grade.  Please let us know if you would like to be involved.  We would also love to learn more about your country as we do this project.

Thank you and the questions are included below.

Sincerely,

Kelly Koehler and Megan McGrath
