"Es buena la globalización" Peter Singer / Martin Wolf

A la globalización se ha atribuido tanto la salida de millones de personas de la pobreza extrema como el mantener a otros tantos millones en la miseria y el haber destruido culturas nacionales y regionales. Se le ha saludado lo mismo como la creadora de clases medias crecientes y dinámicas en las naciones en desarrollo que como el origen de un reinado casi ilimitado de traficantes de todo tipo.

Nelson Mandela on ending global poverty

In this 2 minute video Nelson Mandela appeals to people to maintain pressure on governments to keep their promises to take action to reduce global poverty.

Mother Teresa on poverty of the heart

Mother Teresa worked most of her life caring for the poor in India, and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work over many years. In the video below, she talks about poverty associated with loneliness and being unloved, which is unrelated to material poverty.

Buy Fairtrade products - and give producers in the developing world a better deal.

Fair trade is about trying to give a better deal to producers in the developing world. Some Fair trade activities have the "Fairtrade" label.

The FAIRTRADE Mark is an independent consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal.

In 2006, the Fairtrade system benefited approximately 1.4 million workers, farmers in 57 developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
