I am at a new school and new to the IB. We are looking at changing some of our A1 School Choice selections. We currently have and desire to keep Heat and Dust; O Pioneers!; and Things Fall Apart. We are looking for a third book that fits these thematically and would prefer to have a work of non-fiction instead of another novel. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Give me Shelter is a collection of short stories about children all over the world who have left their homes and families as refugees, often escaping war or persecution.
This book is based on the true story of Jeanne d'Arc Umubyeyi, an 8 year old girl who was the only member of her family to survive the Rwandan genocide of 1994. Retold by her adoptive mother Hanna Jansen, the story is a poignant and moving testament of this horrific time in Rwanda. Can be used to address peace and conflict in the literature classroom - for MYP or older students.
I'm an MYP student in Green Land Pre Vert International School- Egypt. My personal projet is under the IB community theme. It is a book of poems expressing teens' fear of the future towards global poverty. This is my first submission under the name of: "The Good Part In Me". I hope it provokes people into action towards eradication of poverty.
I'd like to know how can we encourage students to be intractive for htier IB Language (Japanese) learning on line. Is there any schools in the world using on line support system to get students to be interactive with each other cross the schools in the region or country and how do they achieve this. Thank you
