Hi everyone!my name is koonlam, Recently I am studying the chinese festivalsnow i want to know about....How we can perserve our chinese culture? In nowadays, people celebrate festivals but they do not know what is the meaning behind celebrating the festivals, for example chinese new year, people jsut collect lai sees.
How do we promote the chinese culture by celebrating the chinese festivals?
I am a Year 12 IB student in a Hong Kong international school. I am currently studying about Chinese and Western festivals in HL Chinese.
I would like to know what others feel about these problems:
- Why has people forgotten about the original aims of celebrating festivals (e.g. Christmas)?
- How can we remind people of the reasons and aims behind celebrating festivals?
- Is it necessary that we know why we celebrate festivals?
- Do you think certain festivals will disappear in a few decades?
Well, in my opinion I think Western festivals are more well known in Hong Kong and people tend to celebrate Christmas, Easter, etc, rather than Mid-Autumn festivals or Chong Yeung festival.
so what do you think?:)
