call for action for earthquake victims, sichuan, p.r. china

dear all, as u learned from the news, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck China's Sichuan province on Monday, less than 100km from the provincial capital of Chengdu. it s estimated that over 50k people, including many schul-age kids, died in the disaster.

hello

am mr ravind rampat from mauritius. my son is doing his studies in india in and IB school and he is facing so many problem with the school because of the subject. he want french as HL but the school is not ready to give him. as i told you am from mauritius and over here we talk in french. so how is that possible when my son is from a french county and he dont get french HL so i would like you all to take an action against that.

Sharing Our Humanitiy - International Walk To School Day

On October 8, 2008 Hayes Elementary families, friends, students, staff and community members took part in a community wide education exercise entitled, INTERNATIONAL WALK TO SCHOOL DAY. Hayes partnered with Safe Kids Minnesota and FEDEX to raise community awareness about pedestrian safety. Parents were encouraged to walk to school on this day with their children. Green Land Pré Vert International School in collaboration with Green Land Charity Association are adapting a poor village near the school called Gezirat Mohamed. We are a two-year, all-boarding IB Diploma school. We adopted the IB Community theme as the theme for our latest newsletter. In it, we highlighted some of what our school has been doing in terms of the High Noon topics (Global poverty, Education for all, Peace and conflict, Global infectious diseases, Digital divide, and Disasters and emergencies).

IB gift items: IB principles into practice

The IB store team has, in a small way, put IB principles into practice through the IB gift items range. An unfortunate result of the IB’s new visual identity was a stock of obsolete IB gift items featuring the old IB logo. Not wishing to waste the opportunity, IB staff looked into whether the unwanted goods could be donated to a worthy cause.

Eighth grade students at Glasgow Middle School (Stuart High School feeder school) in Alexandria, Virginina, USA used Geographic Information Systems software to study the wealth of nations based on three different economic indicators.

Institute for Humane Education

The Insitute for Humane Education, located in Surry, Maine USA, is dedicated to creating a humane world through humane education. The institute has been training humane educators since 1996, created the first training and certificate program in the US, and was the first to offer an M.Ed. in humane education.
