The challenge is to provide opportunities for students to engage in community work that enables a greater appreciation of the larger community, its problems as well as opportunities, always within the development of an understanding of that larger context.

This small remote village of Thamaraikulam (Tamil Nadu, India) has been adopted by Kodaikanal International School for development projects. This project was targeted at building a village school for the underprivileged.

A recent project developed by the North American sub-regional group for IB in the province of British Columbia in Canada has helped our member schools build on the IB community theme: Sharing our humanity.

CAS programme at the INDUS International School is pursued across the curriculum from IB PYP through to the IB Diploma programme with a varied focus with the one common goal of achieving a connect with the community by sharing our humanity.

Broughton High School students find out about Costa Rica from fellow IB students

Our students have formed a Global Cafe Club with the goal of connecting with other IB students in various parts of the world. The club members have sent inquiries to various IB schools around the world asking for letters from students. At the meeting today, the president shared letters that had just arrived from IB students at The British School of Costa Rica in San Jose.
